Anakin Skywalker

It was a bit creepy, but when Revenge of the Sith came out, it felt a bit like watching my life.  I developed an almost immediate affection for and attachment to Anakin that I had not felt in the other movies.  Perhaps because I had also struggled to make difficult choices, and ultimately made poor choices.  Anakin's story ultimately of redemption is one I hope doesn't take quite so long for me, however.

The pages below explore Anakin's journey and with it, I hope, help me avoid the mistakes he made. (This is a literary metaphor, people; please don't take it too literally.)  It also just contains other stuff related to Anakin that I like or am aware of.  We seek solace in the things that are familiar, and Anakin is very familiar to me.

Because Anakin is a kind of literary metaphor for me, sometimes I use the storyline as a basis for poetry when I work through things in my head.  I also use it as the inspiration for blog titles.

While Anakin is a powerful metaphor for me, he's hardly the only thing in science fiction and fantasy I like.  I write the stuff, and used to be an avid reader (before I started taking the writing really seriously).  If you like stories about fallen heroes, check out my novel Janus.
