Books on the Gifted & Giftedness
Naturally, this is hardly a complete list, but there is a lot more out there
now than when I was growing up. If you are a gifted adult, you'll find
a lot here that is familiar; if you are raising a gifted child, send one of
these books to your child's school. Most educators are taught about
how mainstream children work, and don't have any education or training to
spot or work with the gifted unless there is a specific person on staff for
that (and only big, well-to-do schools are likely to have them). It's
up to parents to help their children by educating their teachers and
themselves if need be.
