Each large square should have the central circles pointing inward. Border: Around each of these 12 large squares, complete one round of sc in Color B. Assemble the 12 large squares into a 4x3 grid with whip stitch. Border: Rnd 1. join Color B with slip stitch to any sc. Ch 1. *Sc in each stitch to corner. 3 sc in corner. Repeat from * around. Join with slip stitch. Fasten off. Change to Color A. Rnd 2. Repeat Round 1. Change to Color C. Rnd 3. join with slip stitch to any sc. Ch 3. *dc in each stitch to corner. 5 dc in corner. Repeat from * around. Join with slip stitch to initial chain. Fasten off. Change to Color B. Rnd 4. Repeat Rnd 1.
This afghan would also look great in all solids, say a dark border, light main color, and bright circles, even multiple shades. It would also look nice in autumn shades: orange circles, brown border, and your choice of autumnal variegated.
