Personal Interests Crochet 2-Row Grannies
I made this project out of wool & wool-blend remnants and a few stray single balls. I made the afghan from 550 (22x25) two-row granny squares. If that seems daunting, the squares go really quickly. And this afghan is large enough for a bedspread.
If you look very carefully, I organized the colours I had on a grid and added some very subtle "designs" in with the colours I had. I used math symbols. Below I've drawn in the symbols. See if you can find them in the afghan.
They are pretty subtle, but that's fine since I wasn't planning anything for it when I started it. Using more contrasting colours can make the pattern appear less subtle. The small size of the squares, though, while making it take a long time to sew together. At the end, add a simple border to close off the stitch ends and give it a finished look. Click here for the layout I followed.
